Del Oro Caregiver Resource Center
Del Oro offers free respite care services to eligible family caregivers in Placer County. To qualify, you must be an unpaid caregiver for someone 60+ with limitations in two or more activities of daily living, or caring for someone with an adult-onset cognitive condition like dementia or Parkinson's.
Family Caregiver Support Program (FCSP) via Area 4 Agency on Aging
The FCSP, administered locally by Area 4 Agency on Aging, provides supplemental services including respite for family caregivers. Services are based on need and available funding.
IHSS (In-Home Supportive Services) Caregiver Respite
If your family member receives IHSS, their authorized hours can sometimes include "protective supervision" or other categories that effectively allow a secondary provider to cover shifts, giving the primary family caregiver time off. Ask your IHSS social worker whether your family member's assessment covers this.
